this circular system utilizes local plastic waste as a resource. in NYC, 7% of what we throw away is recyclable plastic and every day globally, 8 million pieces of plastic goes into the ocean. following the Sustainable Development Goal 12, to ensure sustainable consumption and production, this type 2 HDPE plastics collection system lives in a park. the design houses three different elements of the system, plastic collection/cleaning, plastic recycling, and park play. This design could also work in collaboration with the Precious Plastics community as a plastic collection point. designed in collaboration with Ashley Yu.
